La Châtelaine (French for mistress of the château) Chocolat Co. is an artisan producer of

gourmet chocolates. The chocolates are made from the finest French couvertures, featuring an emphasis on growing regions as well as exclusive blends. La Châtelaine’s two owners – one from Paris, France and the other from the New Orleans region – have drawn from their gastronomic heritage to create these innovative, rich chocolate confections. They employ methods of European confectionary artistry and produce all of the chocolates by hand in small batches in their atelier. What inspires the two chocolatiers? Perhaps the unique chocolateries along rue de Seine, or the poetry of Verlaine, the Mediterranean colors of Matisse, or the salty waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Simply, it is the owners’ true passion for the food, the language and people of France and their desire to express it through their chocolate.
